Welcome to Dovey Cottages we specialise in quality cottage accommodation in and around the small harbour village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi).

Aberdovey is situated in the south western corner of the Snowdonia National Park, and is well known for its mild climate, relaxing atmosphere, sandy beaches, water sports, golf course and magnificent surrounding countryside. Aberdovey is without doubt the jewel of Cardigan Bay, as well as being one of the finest coastal resorts in Wales. Aberdovey is often referred to as the 'artist's paradise'.

The picturesque village of Aberdovey has pastel colour-washed cottages, a number of small shops, inns, as well as being renowned for its excellent restaurants with local seafood a speciality. For golfing enthusiasts there is a championship links golf course rated in the top 100 in the UK. Sailing and water sports are all very popular, with the thriving Dovey Yacht Club holding numerous yachting regattas during the year. Excellent river and sea fishing is also available, with the opportunity to take boat fishing trips out in to Cardigan Bay.

The village is enclosed beneath the steep wild slopes of the southern edge of the Tarren Hills and the extensive sand of the Dovey (Dyfi) estuary. The beaches and dunes extend north around the coast some 4 miles (6km) to the coastal resort of Tywyn, which has a good variety of shops, a cinema, leisure centre, promenade and the famous Tal Y Llyn narrow-gauge steam railway.

Aberdovey is surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain and valley scenery to be found in Wales. Within easy reach are the renowned peaks of Cader Idris, Aran Fawddwy, Aran Benllyn, the Rhinogs, as well as the birth place of the River Severn in the imposing Plynlimon range. Both the Dovey (Dyfi) and Dysynni valleys have their own wild and rugged charm, which provides outstanding opportunities for all types of walker and wild life enthusiast.
