Preswylfa Guest House Aberdovey |
|
With an air of great style and comfort, Preswylfa is friendly and refreshingly unpretentious, while also providing uncompromisingly high standards. Whether it is a lift to the station or help with planning a route for the day, your hosts, Marion and Jim Billingham go out of their way to provide friendly, individual attention and a personal style which larger places would find difficult to emulate. Guests are invited to relax in the elegantly appointed period drawing room, where pianists of all abilities are very welcome to play the grand piano. Special emphasis is placed on the food at Preswylfa. Local or home grown produce is used whenever possible and special diets such as vegetarian, low-fat, diabetic and even favourite dishes are catered for! Marion has run Preswylfa as a Guest House since she moved to Wales in 1988, and has trained with a French chef. Jim has spent many years as captain of executive charter mega-yachts cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean, catering being of the highest quality, so both are ideally suited to provide excellent standards of cuisine, comfort and service. Evening meals are by arrangement, with a choice of two or three courses, coffee to follow and a complimentary glass of wine. The dining room, with stunning views, leads through double doors into the garden. Preswylfa has breathtaking views of the Dyfi estuary and Cardigan Bay. A footpath in front of the house leads down to the village centre and beach, a mere four minute walk away. The superb views are also enjoyed by two of the three spacious en suite bedrooms, luxuriously furnished and all with colour television, central heating and tea and coffee making facilities. Preswylfa is ideally located for the relaxing 'away from it all' weekends and holidays, with ample car parking space. Close by is excellent walking and bird watching country, and Aberdovey's well known Championship golf course and sailing club. Altogether the right recipe for a happy and memorable holiday! |
